| Keira Knightley may have bowed out of a fourth Pirates of the Carribean movie, but that doesn’t mean she’s quite ready to give up the pirate-themed projects. The actress has signed on to voice Tinker Bell in Syfy’s Peter Pan prequel Neverland, the network announced.
The four-hour, live-action film will be be written and directed by Nick Willing, who previously directed NBC’s 2009 Alice in Wonderland TV movie.
In the movie, a young Peter (Charlie Rowe, Pirate Radio) and his gang of pickpockets are accidentally transported to Neverland while attempting to steal a magical orb for their mentor Jimmy Hook (Rhys Ifans, Notting Hill). There, they meet Tinker Bell, the leader of a colony of tree spirits whose world is in danger. The movie also stars Pushing Daisies‘ Anna Friel and apparent Pan-enthusiast Bob Hoskins, who also starred in 1991′s Hook.
It is scheduled to air in December.
