CITAZIONE The actress, who shot to fame in Bend It Like Beckham and has since starred in blockbusters such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Atonement, told Vogue magazine that she almost turned her back on acing at 22, but her passion was revived after a hiatus.
'I think I intended not to work again. I wasn't enjoying what I was doing and I felt terribly guilty about that. I remember hating the idea that I was in a privileged position and couldn't see the point of any of it,' she said.
'I had worked solidly since I was 16, till 22, and I had not been on holiday in all of that time. I didn't know if I was going to go back to acting at all. I think for a long time I thought I wouldn't.'
She said that she spent the break travelling round Europe, spending time with her friends and doing all the things she missed out on doing during her teenage years.
.Keira can currently be seen starring alongside Colin Farrell in crime-thriller London Boulevard and with Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan in the big-screen adaptation of Never Let Me Go.
